We believe that when employees feel valued and appreciated by their company, it inspires positive outcomes: higher engagement, job satisfaction, professional growth, and increased self-worth. We’re proud to offer robust benefits and a culture that supports personal growth and learning. It takes a strong, dedicated, and united team to help us achieve big goals and grow our business.
DOC Phase 1 HQ Wireless
The Department of Commerce (DoC) is headquartered in the J. Edgar Hoover Building in downtown Washington, D.C., one of the world’s largest and most complex enclosed spaces. With over 2,500 daily employee sign-ons and hundreds of daily visitors, DoC faced a significant challenge in providing high performance network access, using 802.1x authentication across 7 departments, each with a separate Active Directory server. TekSynap assessed the physical environment, IT infrastructure, and the business requirements of DoC leadership. Applying our expertise with the Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) and the Cisco wireless platform, we created a system configuration that seamlessly authenticates wired and wireless users on the network. DoC staff and visitors can be productive, access the internet, and collaborate securely wherever they are in the building and whatever device they are using.
NOAA Princeton Campus
NOAA manages and operates the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) on the Princeton University Campus. GFDL is one of the world’s first supercomputers and is critical to our understanding global climate patterns, air quality, and the interactions between a changing climate and the ocean. With a variety of desktop operating systems (including Microsoft, Apple, and Linux), GFDL faced a significant challenge in providing 802.1x authentication for secure, reliable, high performance network access. TekSynap assessed GFDL’s IT infrastructure and user needs, and configured Cisco’s ISE (Identity Services Engine) tool to provide secure authentication for all registered users. By collaborating with GFDL’s DNS, AD, DCP, and networking teams, our authentication solution enables secure, high performance Single Sign-On network access across GFDL.
NOAA NMFS
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is headquartered in NOAA’s Silver Spring, MD headquarters campus, near Washington, D.C. With hundreds of daily employee sign-ons and daily visitors, NMFS sought to enhance its security posture by implementing 802.1x authentication. After a false start, NMFS contracted with TekSynap to ensure a successful implementation. As a “White List” Cisco integrator, TekSynap has demonstrated our ability to design and install successful systems on the various Cisco platforms without the time and expense of third party verification. Our solution for NMFS is an ISE (Identity Services Engine) configuration coupled with a Cisco AnyConnect implementation that seamlessly authenticates users to the LAN. NMFS staff are productive and secure, wherever they’re located throughout the campus.

Hoover Building (HCHB) supporting NOAA, NOAA Fisheries, and NOAA Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory (GFDL) in Princeton, NJ.

Other avenues of communication include Virtual Agent, End-User IT support, Self Service Portals and Applications, and a Tier-0 Self-Service portal supported by AI to help users self-resolve issues. Team developed and implemented an integrated, centrally managed CRM solution that focuses on customer support and problem resolution across the DLA enterprise at the lowest level possible. This included creating new Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs) and SOPs, revalidation of priority levels, and input from Tier 3 teams to ensure mandatory fields are included in tickets. Improvements produced results – when the team started, they had 50,000 contacts per month, reduced to 45,000 within 2 months, and predicted to trend downward to 25,000 by the end of the base period. The team is providing additional value through implementation of AI and other advanced technologies. Our delivery utilizes a highly innovative IPsoft platform. IPsoft Amelia is a cognitive, artificial intelligence driven virtual agent that does more than just recognize keywords and user questions – she observes, learns, understands and grows her skills over time.
