U.S. Senate Information Technology Support Contract Description:
The United States Senate Office of the Sergeant at Arms (SAA or the Senate) is responsible for managing the Information Technology Support Contract (ITSC) for the outsourcing of the core services for which it is responsible. This is a contract to provide acquisition and support services for workstation and server hardware, operating system software, and application software; as well as help desk services and on-site maintenance and support for the United States Senate (Senate) in Washington, DC, and the fifty (50) states for Senate Member, Committee, Leadership and Officer offices. Hardware acquisition, maintenance and support includes, but is not limited to, workstations, laptops, file servers, scanners, printers, videoconferencing, televisions, and wireless mobile technology (devices, platforms, and WANs). Software support includes, but is not limited to operating systems, communication packages, and commercial software applications.

As a subcontractor to Perspecta, TekSynap provides IT support to the U.S. Senate in multiple locations across the country in the key IT service areas below:

Role/Function Description
Systems Consulting Services TekSynap provides Systems Consultant(s) to Senate offices who providing proactive on-site consulting support including but not limited to:

  • Recommending systems management improvements,
  • Assisting offices in configuring systems for optimal performance, and
  • Recommending changes in hardware or software based on requirements and technological improvements.
Tier 3 Server Technical Support TekSynap provides Tier 3 Server Technical Support including but not limited to:

  • Designing, installing and supporting Windows Servers;
  • Performing troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common problems; and
  • Implementing upgrades to hardware and software components as required;
Tier 3 Network Technical Support TekSynap provides Tier 3 Network Technical Support including but not limited to:

  • Upgrading network hardware and software components;
  • Installing, upgrades, and configuring network printing, rights, security, and software on file servers;
  • Providing customers with network technical support with cross training to provide video teleconference support.
