Contract Description:
The Technical Information Management System (TIMS) Technology Services Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA), through the Technology Services Division IT program, provides support in the form of IT services and products needed for mission specific capabilities in support of Department of Interior (DOI) Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM).
TIMS serves as the bureau’s core mission application, offering essential tools needed to manage the diverse array of data and information needed to accomplish the Bureaus day-to-day mission requirements. By automating the business and regulatory functions of BSEE and BOEM, TIMS brings together a wide range of information into a centralized database. This integration allows seamless data sharing and collaboration among BSEE and BOEM regions and headquarters.
The advantages of TIMS are significant: it standardizes processes, forms, reports, and maps; promotes the electronic submission of data; and enforces data integrity through relational database technology. As a result, accurate and reliable information is made readily accessible to the public sector.
Moreover, TIMS plays a crucial role in assisting staff with providing estimates of undiscovered economically recoverable hydrocarbon resources and in deriving estimated reservation prices for oil and gas tracts offered for lease on the Outer Continental Shelf.
In addition to its internal applications, TIMS fosters valuable information exchange between BSEE and other elements of the DOI and federal agencies, state and local governments, private-sector businesses and the public. This open sharing of data contributes to better decision making and overall efficiency across all relevant stakeholders.
