Over the past two decades, millions of Soldiers and their families have cycled through U.S. Army Fort Huachuca’s “Extraordinary Skies and Uncommon Ground” nestled high in the Huachuca Mountains of southeastern Arizona. For many – this is an outdoor recreation and family paradise, for others – the relative isolation and lack of “big city” life is a bit traumatic.

The Military Affairs Committee (MAC) is a long-standing function of Sierra Vista AZ’s Chamber of Commerce promoting cooperation, collaboration, and partnership with the Ft. Huachuca community, its Soldiers and Families. The MAC’s primary mission is to facilitate constant dialog between civilian and commercial leadership and the Fort – while providing information and opportunities for Military Families to get off post, engage with, and enjoy the town. This is accomplished through events, programs, sponsorships, and a wide variety of activities – including Quarterly Luncheons held on the Fort where Military and town leadership gather to exchange information, honor Soldiers’ of the Quarter, and fellowship over good food. Guest Speakers at these MAC Luncheons have included University Presidents & Deans, Generals, members of the Senior Executive Service, Mayors, Senators, State Representatives, etc.

TekSynap is a Diamond Level Corporate Sponsor of Sierra Vista’s MAC Luncheons, including the annual “Bring a Vet to Lunch” event where Veterans living in Retirement Centers, Assisted Living, Nursing Homes, and “shut ins” are brought to the Fort for a free lunch with full Military “Pomp and Circumstance”. Each year, the oldest and youngest (male and female) Veterans and Soldiers are honored and cut the dessert cake with Army Cavalry Swords.

At Wednesday, 02-August’s MAC Luncheon, Vice President Joe Walker introduced TekSynap’s local, national, and global business, our Government customers served, and missions supported – to an audience of over 100 Military and Civilian Leaders, including Major General Christopher Eubanks, US Army NETCOM Commander. The was followed by updates from local leaders, lunch, and keynote talk on Artificial Intelligence from Dr. Gary Packard (BG, USAF Ret.), Dean of the College of Applied Science and Technology, University of Arizona.

Founded in 2008, TekSynap has been working with government agencies for 15 years—from small start-ups to large government organizations—to help them move faster and achieve their goals by bringing the latest tools and best practices into their organizations. TekSynap is a systems integrator that currently holds 11 contract vehicles and has successfully delivered over 150 prime contracts across critical verticals. TekSynap is pleased to be among those awarded a basic ordering agreement (BOA) providing Data Readiness for Artificial Intelligence Development (DRAID) for the DoD Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC). The BOA is a decentralized vehicle that streamlines rapid procurement and agile delivery of AI data readiness capabilities for the #DoD! The streamlined methodologies implemented will benefit both industry and government partners, by increasing competition and flexibility on ceilings for each task order.

The successful use of AI depends critically on the availability of quality data that can be used to build reliable AI-enabled systems. The DRAID vehicle will address the entire data lifecycle, beginning from the collection, through pre-processing, up to before AI system creation. It will also support AI-specific requirements, including unique challenges in operationalizing data for AI. DRAID is also customizable; it enables the selection of a custom subset of AI data readiness services to meet individual needs.

DRAID will be accessible to the DoD and provides an Intellectual Property Flowchart that helps DoD partners draft requirement packages. Additional tools, features, and information will be added to help facilitate the DoD’s ability to deliver rapid and agile AI technologies.
